Last week, we at Kolos Lifting & Inspection AS visited our partner Heila Cranes to carry out the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on the latest crane that has been built—an HR650 equipped with 1500 m wire and Active Heave Compensation (AHC).
The FAT is a crucial part of the quality assurance process and an important step before the crane is shipped for installation and operation.

A factory acceptance test is performed at the manufacturer to ensure that the crane meets all design requirements, performance criteria, and safety standards before leaving the factory. This includes:
For us at Kolos, the FAT allows us to verify the quality of the delivery, identify any adjustments early, and ensure a safe and efficient installation phase for the customer.
Heila has delivered marine and offshore cranes worldwide since 1978 and has established itself as one of the industry’s most reliable manufacturers.
Need more capacity than the HR650 can offer? Check out the latest addition to our range: the HR850, a robust 50tm crane built for serious lifting.
